VACANCIES / RESERVATION
(i) Firm number of vacancies will be determined in due course.

EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATIONS: ( As on 01.08.2013) Must have passed 12th Standard or equivalent from a recognised Board or University. NOTE-I: As per Ministry of Human Resource Development Notification No. 44 dated 01.03.1995 published in Gazette of India edition dated 08.04.1995, the Degree obtained through open Universities/Distance Education Mode needs to be recognized by Distance Education Council, IGNOU. Accordingly, unless such Degrees had been recognized for the period when the candidates acquired the relevant qualification, they will not be accepted for the purpose of Educational Qualification. Note – II : Candidates who have not acquired but will acquire the educational qualification and acquire documentary evidence from the Board/University in support thereof as on 01.08.2013 will also be eligible. Note- III : All candidates who are called for appearing at the Skill Test will be required to produce the relevant Certificate in Original such as Mark sheets, Provisional Certificate, etc. as proof of having acquired the minimum educational qualification on or before 01.08.2013 failing which the candidature of such candidate will be cancelled by the Commission.
6. MODE OF PAYMENT: FEE PAYABLE Rs. 100 (Rupees One Hundred only) (i) For the candidates sending the application by post: The candidates submitting Paper application should pay the fee by means of “Central Recruitment Fee Stamps(CRFS)”only . CRFS are available at the counter of all Departmental Post Offices of the country. Recruitment Fee Stamps should be pasted on the application form in the space earmarked for the purpose and got cancelled from the Counter of Post Office of issue with the date stamp of the Issuing Post Office in such a manner that the impression or the cancellation stamp partially overflows on the Application Form itself, taking care at the same time that the impression is clear and distinct to facilitate the identification of date and Post Office of issue at any subsequent stage. After getting the Recruitment Fee Stamps cancelled from the Post Office, the candidate must submit their application to the concerned Regional Office/Sub Regional Offices of the Commission in the usual manner after completing other formalities. Application with CRFS not cancelled by the post office will be rejected outright.

II. Instructions have been given for most items in the application itself which
should be gone through carefully before filling up the boxes. For items for
which instructions are not available, further instructions given below may be

III. Please go through the instructions given below for filling up each item
numbered in the application form:-
1. Name of the Examination Centre and 2. Centre Codes
Refer to para-D-3 of Notice.
12. Code for seeking age relaxation. Refer to Para G of Notice.
13. Candidates should indicate whether they belong to one of the minority
communities notified by Govt. namely Muslims, Christians, Sikhs, Buddhists, or
Zoroastrians (Parsis).
14. Preference for Zone/Discipline Codes
Candidates are advised to go through paras A(3); A(4) and A(5) of the Notice
carefully and fill up preferences for Discipline and Zone as the case may be.
14 (i) Preference for Posts – Post Codes
Candidates may refer to para A(2) of the Notice.
Candidates are advised to be careful in exercising their preference as
selection will be made zone wise first and then post wise within the Zone.
You will be considered for the posts in the order of your merit for each post
within the zone allocated to you. Requests for change will not be entertained
later.
17. Educational Qualification and Subject Code: See Annexure – III and IV
Use ‘Others’ if any particular Educational Qualification or Subject is not

17.1 VH candidates should specify the medium in which they desire to take the

non-verbal type. This component may include questions on analogies, similarities

General Awareness : General Awareness will predominantly includes questions on

General English: Questions in this components will be designed to test the
candidate’s understanding and knowledge of English Language and will be based on
spot the error, fill in the blanks, synonyms, antonyms, spelling/detecting mis-spelt
words, idioms & phrases, one word substitution, improvement of sentences,
active/passive voice of verbs, conversion into direct/indirect narration, shuffling of
sentence parts, shuffling of sentences in a passage, cloze passage &
comprehension passage.
Paper – II : Language and literature in concerned language if held.
NOTE: Questions in the two papers will be of a level commensurate with
Qualifications prescribed for posts included in the examination.

Application Fee: Candidates must pay the application fee of Rs. 200/- (Rupees Two Hundred Only) through State Bank India (SBI) either in the form of Challan or Net Banking.

Age Limit: Maximum age limit as on 01-01-2013

Selection Procedure: Selection for the posts will be based on a Written Examination which will be conducted by Staff Selection Commission. The examination will consist of two papers for all Posts.

The Prasar Bharati (PB), is a statutory autonomous body established under the Prasar Bharati (Broadcasting Corporation of India) Act 1990. It is India‘s largest broadcaster and comprises Doordarshan & All India Radio. It wishes to recruit young and skilled personnel for manning the posts of Engineering Assistant & Technician in offices spread all over the country. Applications are invited from Indian Nationals who fulfill the prescribed qualifications and age etc. for these posts. Staff Selection Commission (SSC), Government of India, will make recruitment to these posts on behalf of the Prasar Bharati under special dispensation given by the Government. The candidates selected through this recruitment for posts in PB will NOT, however, have the status of Central Government Civilian Employees. As such they will not be eligible for benefit of age relaxation etc. admissible to Central Government civilian employees in recruitments made by the Staff Selection Commission for Ministries/ Departments/ Attached and Subordinate Offices under Government of India and will not be entitled to claim parity with Central Government Civilian Employees in any matter whatsoever.

For Engineering Assistant-Post Code ‘A’
(A) (i) (a) Three years Diploma in Radio /Telecommunication /Electrical /Electronics/ Information Technology /Electronics and Communication Engineering from a recognized University/Institute.
(b) One year experience in the related field OR (ii) (a) Degree with Physics as one of the subjects from a recognized University/ Institute. (b) One year experience in the related field. OR (iii) Degree in Telecommunication/Electronics/Electrical/Information Technology/ Electronics and Communication Engineering from a recognized University/Institute.
(B) Desirable: Knowledge of Wireless Radio Engineering.
For Technician- Post Code ‘B’:-
(i) 10+2 pass from a recognized Board.
(ii) Diploma of at least 2 years duration in Electronics/Telecommunication Engineering from a recognized University/Institute.

Staff Selection Commission will make ENTRANCE EXAMINATION OF  recruitment to the posts of Constable (GD) in ITBPF, BSF,CISF,CRPF and SSB and Rifleman (GD) in Assam Rifles on 2 may 2013.
Female candidate will be considered for posts earmarked for them in
different CAPFs. Matriculation or 10th class pass is the minimum
educational qualification. The recruitment will comprise of Physical
Standards Test (PST), Physical Efficiency Test (PET), Written Examination
and Medical Examination. Constabulary forms the major component of the
forces. The working mainly depends upon the effectiveness of the personnel at
this level. Therefore, it is important that only the candidates having the right
aptitude, capability and fitness in all respects apply for the posts.
2. In view of the anticipated large number of applicants, scrutiny of the eligibility and
other aspects will not be undertaken before the PST/PET and Written
Examination and, therefore, the candidature will be accepted only
provisionally. Candidates are advised to go through the requirements of
educational qualification, age, physical standards, etc. and satisfy
themselves that they are eligible for the posts, before applying. Copies of
supporting documents will be sought only from those candidates who qualify for
the medical examination. When scrutiny is undertaken after the Written
Examination, if any claim made in the application is not found substantiated, the
candidature will be cancelled and the Commission’s decision in this regard
shall be final.

SYLABUS OF EXAMIANTION:

Paper-I

SHORT ESSAY: One Essay of 400-500 words to be written on any of the several specified subjects.

Paper-II

(a) LANGUAGE (General English or Saamanye Hindi): Candidate will be tested in simple composition, Applied Grammar and Elementary Tabulation to test the art of compiling, arranging and presenting data in tabular form.

(b) General Knowledge: Knowledge of current events and of such matters of every day observation and experience in their scientific aspects as may be expected of an educated person who has not made a special study of any scientific subject. The paper will include question on Geography of India also.

6. Candidates are allowed the option to answer both the question papers either in English or in Hindi (in Devanagri Script). The option will be for both the papers viz. Short Essay (Paper-I) and Language and General Knowledge (Paper-II). The question papers for both the papers will be in bilingual form i.e. these will be printed both in English and Hindi.

Note:-I Candidate exercising the option to answer the papers either in English or in Hindi (in Devangri Script) must indicate their PREFRENCE/OPTION to do so clearly in Column-11 of the Application Form, otherwise, it would be presumed by the Commission that they would answer the papers in English.

Note:-II The option once exercised will be final and no request for change of option will ordinarily be entertained.

Note:-III Zero marks will be awarded for answer written in a language other than the one opted by the candidates. Further, if answers are written partly in one language and partly in another language, such answer script will not be evaluated and such candidate will be awarded ZERO marks.

Note-IV:

(i) The Commission has discretion to fix qualifying marks in any or all subjects of the examination.
(ii) Marks will not be allotted for mere superficial knowledge.
(iii) Deduction upto 5% of the maximum marks will be made for illegible handwriting.
(iv) Credit will be given for orderly, effective and exact expression combined with due economy of words in all subjects of examination.
